Monsieur Tricot in one paragraph

Two forms carry the collection. The hanging lamps go above a dining table or along a pergola beam, where the light falls on plates and faces. The standing lamps sit on the floor beside seating and read as objects during the day, which matters on a terrace you look at from indoors.

The 2025 models are wired. A 5-meter cable, a little over sixteen feet, runs from the lamp to an outlet, and an on-off switch sits on the cord. No app, no pairing, no charging schedule to forget. That length usually reaches from an exterior outlet on the house wall to a table set out on the deck.

Because every shade is knitted or crocheted by hand, the stitch pattern varies slightly from piece to piece. Hung in a row over a long table the differences read as rhythm rather than error, and the loose stitch breaks the light into a soft pattern instead of a hard cone.

Textile lighting wants a sheltered spot. A covered porch, a pergola or a deep eave keeps the worst of the weather off, and the lamps come in for the winter in any climate with snow. Dust shakes out of the stitch; a soft brush handles the rest.
