Tribù Vis à Vis modular sofa and daybed on teak bases with travertine low tables at sunset

Tribù Vis à Vis collection

Piergiorgio Cazzaniga builds Vis à Vis on a teak base. The seating sits on top of it, the base carries on past the cushions as a flat surface, and the 2026 update brings a fuller cushion with piping run around its edge.

The collection

Vis à Vis in one paragraph

That base is what makes a long run look calm. Because it continues beyond the seat units, a tray, a lamp or a stack of books has somewhere to go that is not a separate table. Set two modules with the base running between them and the gap works as a side table you did not have to buy.

Seven pieces. The modular sofa, a lounger, a bench, a double daybed, a dining table, a low table and a coffee table. The organically shaped corner module is the part that changes layouts, because it turns a run around a curve instead of a right angle, which suits a terrace with a rounded edge or a pool with a curved end better than a square corner does.

Tables come two ways. Teak matches the base and weathers along with it. Travertine brings an open-pored stone surface and a cooler color that sits well against pale paving. Dining tables and low tables are both offered in the pair, so a terrace can run one material throughout or split it between the eating end and the lounging end.

The double daybed is the piece to measure for. It takes two people lying down and it does not fold away, so give it a permanent spot rather than a corner you were hoping to keep clear. The lounger is shown with wheels and moves from shade to sun on its own. Travertine wants spills wiped early, teak wants oil twice a year or nothing at all, and covers wash to the label. Everything is quoted on request.

Build

How a Vis à Vis piece is layered

  1. Piped cushion

The 2026 cushion is fuller than the one it replaces, with piping around the edge holding the shape as a line.

  2. Teak base

The low plinth the seating stands on. Where it runs past a module it becomes a surface in its own right.

  3. Travertine top

Stone with open pores. It stays cooler than teak in direct sun and wants spills wiped before they settle in.

  4. Outdoor fabric

Ask which weaves are solution-dyed. Color fixed in the fiber fades slowly and across the whole cushion at once.
