Tribù Elio collection

Yabu Pushelberg drew Elio low and round, with the edges worn back the way water rounds a stone. It arrived in 2025 as ten pieces, all of them for sitting or lying down.

Elio in one paragraph

There is not a hard corner in the collection. A woven shell wraps the outside of each rounded frame, and the cushions drop down inside it instead of sitting on top, so a three-seat sofa reads as one continuous curve rather than three boxes in a row. Teak carries the lounge chairs at the legs.

Backs and armrests are placed rather than fixed at the factory. The same sofa can hold a back along its full length, open at one end into a chaise, or run without arms against a wall, which is how a long terrace gets one piece of furniture instead of three.

Ten pieces. Lounge chairs in two back heights, an armchair, a footstool, sofas at one, two and three seats, a daybed, a pouf and the modular sofa itself. Nothing here is a table, so the low table in front of an Elio sofa comes from another Tribù collection.

Deep cushions are the maintenance item. Quick-dry foam pushes water out through the base, and it works faster if you stand cushions on edge after a storm instead of leaving them flat. Covers come off and wash at 30 °C; the woven shell takes a soft brush and soapy water. In full Arizona sun a lighter cover stays cooler to sit down on than a dark one.

How a Elio piece is layered

Solution-dyed acrylic cover

Color is fixed in the fiber before it is spun, so sun fades it slowly and across the whole cushion at once.
Quick-dry foam

Open-cell core that pushes water out through the base. Stand the cushion on edge and it clears faster.
Hand-woven shell

The woven skin around the outside of the frame. It holds the cushions in place and drains in minutes.
Frame and teak legs

The rounded structure under the weave, standing on teak. Oil the wood twice a year or let it grey.
