Lucca reads as familiar furniture from across the yard and as a very particular piece of drawing up close. Studio Segers gave the silhouettes the single-stroke line of Japanese calligraphy and wrapped the seats in bands braided the way southern European craftsmen braid.

Lucca in one paragraph

The woven bands carry the sitter. Because they are woven across the frame rather than upholstered over a pan, water passes straight through instead of soaking in. On a Gulf Coast porch that means you sit back down twenty minutes after a squall rather than the next morning.

The dining table is the piece people stop at. Its base is cut in the outline of a shield and carries a rounded ceramic top. Ceramic is the practical choice as much as the visual one: red wine, olive oil and sunscreen wipe off a fired surface that a porous stone would absorb. Full Arizona sun does not fade it.

Three pieces in all — armchair, lounge chair, dining table — so Lucca works as a dining setting on its own and mixes with other Tribù collections when a terrace needs more. Frames come in soft neutral finishes, linen among them.

Care is short. Rinse the weave with a hose, wash the cushion covers cold, and wipe the ceramic with soap and water. Bring cushions indoors over winter anywhere the terrace gets snow or months of wet.
