Yabu Pushelberg drew Nodi as a steel frame softened by rope. Twisted, interlaced Canax runs across the arms of the modular sofa and across the seat and back of the armchair.

Nodi in one paragraph

The rope does the visual work. Canax is a weather-resistant cord, twisted and interlaced across the frame in an open pattern, so light passes through the arms and the sofa never closes off the view behind it. An open weave also drains, which is the practical argument for rope over a solid panel on a deck that gets afternoon thunderstorms.

Nodi sits on a solid steel frame. Steel holds a thinner section than aluminum can, which is how the sofa keeps a low, quiet profile while still carrying deep cushions. If the house is on the ocean, ask about the frame finish and the service interval before you order — salt works harder on steel than on teak or rope.

Six pieces cover a terrace. The modular sofa and the meridienne build the main seating group, the lounge chair and lounger handle the poolside, and the armchair is the light one you carry to where the conversation moved. The pouf works as a footrest or as the extra seat that does not need a place at the table.

Cushions are soft and gently curved rather than flat blocks, so the sofa gives at the back instead of pushing you upright. Take them indoors over winter and after any week of standing water. Fabric options and pricing on request.
